Look Where I Found Hudson

So, the other day Zach came to me and quietly said "go look at Hudson."  I knew I had better grab my camera.  This is where I found him and what I found him doing...

Where was the step stool anyway?  Why, in the laundry room of course.  He can open doors now...didn't you know?  We have door safety thingys (don't know what they are really called) on almost every door, but not the laundry room door.  Who would have thought Hudson would ever want to go in there.  I guess he'd seen the step stool in there before.  Before all of this, he kept saying "hands mommy" "hands"...he loves to wash his hands.  I kept saying "no baby, we don't need to wash our hands."  He had other plans.  I guess he thought "now, how am I going to get to that sink?"  He opened the laundry room door and carried the step stool to the sink and climbed on top of it and, well, I guess 'washing hands' was out of the question since he couldn't quite reach the faucet, so he grabbed the dirty spatula out of the sink and played!  At least he stayed at the sink and didn't make too much of a mess.  It kept him occupied for a good 10 minutes I'd say.

How are we going to keep Hudson entertained all summer?

How are we going to keep Hudson entertained all summer?

Splurge! and buy him a tractor!!!!  Yes, I can't believe we did it, but we did.  We bought Hudson his very own "tractor."  Zach put it together while Hudson was in the bed and the next morning, when Hudson saw it, he yelled "tractor!!!" and had the biggest, brightest smile on his face.  It was so much fun to watch him "ride" it.  The batter was still charging (18 hours) so we just let him play on it.  He climbed on it, pushed it, pulled it, stood on it, checked the tires, etc, etc, etc.  I don't think he's ever played for one thing for so long!  It was great!  I will update when the batter gets charged and when he really gets to ride it.

PB &J Day

Since I am out of school all week (due to storm damage) Hudson and I spent a couple of hours at JuJu's house.  For lunch: "butter sanich" (PB&J Sandwich) and cheese puffs for lunch.  This is not the first time Hudson had ate a PB&J, but the first time he handled it like a man!  I looked over and he had that thing with both hands gnawing down the middle.  In-between bites, he managed to get in a cheese puff or two, too!  He just cracks me up.  His "butter sanich" was completely gone and Lexy still had...I'd say more than 3/4 of her sandwich still on her plate!  Boys!!!

Poppoo's Boat

Poppoo recently got a boat.  Now Hudson is obsessed with two things: Tractors and Boats!  When we pulled in the driveway, Hudson immediately begins talking about the boat.  As we walked through the garage and into the house...Hudson says "bye boat, bye boat."  So, the whole time we're inside, Hudson says over and over "boat outside" or "wanna ride tractor outside"...smart little thing.  I guess he figured if he said it enough, we'd finally give in.  Do you think that happened???  Yes!  Eventually, Zach carried Hudson outside and put him in Poppoo's boat.  Poppoo had been "fixing" some things on his boat, so there was lots of tools lying inside the boat.  Hudson spotted the tools and he kept saying "six-it" (fix-it).  I think he managed to push a few "butts" (buttons) on the boat, too.  Of course, mommy had to take some pictures!

"Ran-o"

What is a "ran-o???"  A PIANO of course.  Hudson loves to play the ran-o.  Last night at Nanna and Poppoo's he climbed up on top of the piano bench and lit in to playing.  I'm not sure what song he was singing, but he was playing and singing something!  I couldn't help but snap some photos.  I wonder if he want his Nanna to teach him to play the piano when he's older?  I hope so.  She tried teaching me, but do you think I wanted to learn?   Nope!  I wish, now, that I could play.  Hopefully, Hudson will not lose the desire to play the piano.

Frist Drawing on Furniture

It finally happened!!  Hudson got out of my sight, got a marker, and drew on the furniture.  At least it was just the old computer desk.  I accidentally left the computer room door open so he went on in.  There's a cup of markers sitting on top of the desk, apparently not far enough out of his reach, and he got one and lit in to drawing.  I was in the living room and noticed Hudson was gone and he was very quiet (wherever he was).  I think we all know when toddlers get quiet, they are usually getting into something.  I walked down the hallway and into the computer room...there he was; marker in one hand, marker lid in the other.  He looked up at me, while still drawing on the desk!  I couldn't help but get tickled.  It really wasn't that bad and it was washable...YAY!  As I reached for the marker and took it away from him, he started smearing the marker...I wonder if he thought he could get it off before I noticed?  I just had to get a picture :)  Needless to say, I put the markers up where he couldn't reach them.

Fourth Anniversary

Yesterday was my fourth anniversary with my wonderful husband, Zach.  God has blessed me with such an awesome husband, and together we have a precious little boy.  We have been extremely blessed during these past four years.  I am looking forward to many more years and to what God has in store for us as a family.

I got a great surprise yesterday, too!  Zach sent me flowers and guess what else??  Six, 20 oz. Mountain Dews wrapped in cellophane and ribbon to school!!!  Can anyone believe that.  I know someone is thinking...Mountain Dews???  YES!  I found it the most thoughtful gift, and probably one of the best!  If you know me well, you understand why I think it's so great!  The pictures below will say everything!  Oh yeah, and the flowers were absolutely breath-taking!!!  I wish flowers didn't die.

  Awesome Dews!!!

Aren't they beautiful?!

Red Man

Hudson rode a horse for the first time on Saturday.  The horse's name is Red Man.  I thought Hudson would be overwhelmed at how enormous Red Man was and would be scared of him, but he wasn't.  We petted him first.  He wanted to pat his head and then he tried poking his eye saying "at's eye" "at's  eye."  I had no intention of us actually getting on and riding, but Uncle Terry asked if we wanted to, and I couldn't pass up the opportunity for being there and riding the horse with him on his first horse ride!  Of course, when Uncle Terry asked, Hudson nodded and said "uh huh."  He absolutely loved it.  Red Man was so gentle and sweet.  As we rode off, Hudson said "it's fun!"  That was priceless, and I had never heard him refer to anything as "fun."  We had a great ride!  Too bad I didn't have my camera...it would have turned into a photo session.  My sweet Uncle Terry managed to snap a couple pictures.

P.S. Monday night we went to revival at Rock Springs and Uncle Terry was there, along with my dad's other brothers and sisters.  The all sang a couple of songs on stage and when Hudson saw him he said "Where Red Man?" and repeated it over and over and over during the song.  Embarrassing right?  It blew me away that he thought about Red Man when he saw Uncle Terry.

Tractor / John Deere Day

Saturday, 10th, Zach carried Hudson to the John Deere Day, along with Poppoo and Paw Paw.  I made Zach carry the camera to get "shots" of Hudson's most favorite thing in the world...TRACTORS!  When they got home, I immediately asked Zach how it went.  He said "I bet Hudson said tractor 2,000 times!"  I thought that was so funny...but I believed every word of it.  I can just imagine how his mind was running wild seeing all the tractors that were there.  Maybe the pictures will say more than my words!
